Louda Larrain Fashion Illustration HFX MENTOR Workshop

HFX Mentor Louda Larrain hosts a fashion illustration workshop to coincide with her exhibit at fishcake during Hawaii Fashion Month.

Louda has designed textiles for many Paris couture houses including Dior, Chanel, Thierry Mugler, and Emanuel Ungaro.  Her own collection has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and many other international venues.  Below are some examples of Louda’s sketches for a production at Carnegie Hall, and a video showing Louda’s whimsical approach to fashion illustration.

This intimate workshop is suitable for aspiring and experienced illustrators, and capacity is very limited.  Event registration is below (HFX Members visit the HFX Opportunities page for the member discount code).

The workshop content will include:

  • a presentation on fashion illustration history that is inseparable from the history of costume, its rules, its mystery and its anecdotes
  • a demonstration that will explain the approach and methods of fashion illustration
  • numerous drawing sessions with live model that will strike fashionable poses dressed in Louda Collection Couture,  followed by analyses of everyone’s work
  • diverse exercises to help communicate students’ fashion ideas through drawing.
