KITV’s Style Local Features HFX Mentor Workshop With Mark Arbeit

Our photography workshop with esteemed fashion photographer Mark Arbeit was a huge smash. KITV’s Moani Nabarro showed up and documented it for KITV’s Style Local segment. It aired last night, so check out the video below! Fifteen students attended, ranging from photographers to designers, make up artists, and stylists, who each learned how a fashion editorial photoshoot is designed and photographed.

The KITV video shows Arbeit, the McKinley grad, as he guides students and models through the process. Photographer Kaveh Kardan was interviewed, as was model Kasie Clark about what it was like to wear designer Marquez Marzan’s dress made out of pig intestines.

Another attendee, the photographer Vega, posted some BTS pics on Facebook. Check them out below:

Thanks to all the students who signed up, and especially to Mark Arbeit. Thanks also to make-up artist Kecia Littman who did an amazing job adding drama to our models’ faces, Kasie Clark, Neka Stephens, and Lokomaika‘i Lipscomb (our stunning models), stylist Therese Wahl, and Marquez Marzan, whose pieces are nothing short of wearable works of art. We’ll post Mark’s photos, as well as students’, on the blog soon, so stay tuned!

The Hawaii Fashion Incubator has many more HFX mentor workshops planned, so follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay updated on when we announce the next one!

The HFX mentor program is a project of the Hawaii Fashion Exchange.
